Staged States (2015)
STAGED STATES are constructed through a choreographic tool used to interpret a social context. The tone between bodies in a certain situation is broken down to small elements within the categories: relationships, activity, dynamics and space. The study reveals a context from a visual perspective. This working method is based on bodily reading, copying and parodying of movements and expressions forming a tool for a study of identity construction. The material produced by the study is designed to compile as a choreography or a script for a staging.
Johan Lundin, Stockholm 2015
”Staged States are caricatures of dance, when dance is a grotesque staging of a body.”
